JULIETTE Lewis and her new beau, musician Joseph Arthur, have been snogging all over town. Last week, they were making out "the entire time" our spywitness was on the same F train from Brooklyn to Manhattan. They also stopped by the Apollo Braun store on Orchard Street Saturday. "The two could not be apart from each other for a second and kept taking pictures of themselves while Lewis was trying on the sexiest dresses in the store," we're told. The actress ended up buying a black jumpsuit and a T-shirt reading, "New York [bleeped] Me!" Arthur, who "looks like Andy Dick," tried to get the store to give Lewis the clothes for free, but it declined.

BUTCH'S & SHIRLEY'S MUSIC PICKS
BUTCH VIG'S SONG PICKS
MOTO - "Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance to the Radio"
Two minutes and 17 seconds of pure punk bliss...with a reference to both Jonathan Richman's Roadrunner and Joy Division's Transmission, it never fails to shoot adrenaline straight to my heart.
JOSEPH ARTHUR - "Into the Sun"
A dark, yet achingly beautiful song about loss, regret, and somehow meaking peace with your past. At least that's what i think it's about.
RINGSIDE - "The Struggle"
A spare hypnotic beat and droning electric guitar groove along under the best white boy soul singing I've heard in a long time.
LOUIS XIV - "Finding Out True Love is Blind"
Obnoxiously infectious. Is the singer being cheeky or does he really think he's Casanova? Either way, this is the best sneer i've heard since Mark E. Smith.
CRIMEA - "Baby Boom"
Their songs really grew on me. There are some flourishes in the music that recall Flaming Lips. It's the first time I've heard the words "Tarzan, King of the Jungle" in a pop song.
TEGAN AND SARA - "Walking with a Ghost"
One of those simple pop songs I can't get out of my head. For the longest time I thought they were singing, "i was smoking with a ghost," which come to think of it, I prefer.
SHIRLEY MANSON'S ALBUM PICKS
THE ARCADE FIRE - Funeral
One of my absolute favorite new bands. They seem to march to their own drum--doing something completely unique and enchanting. I love this record so much.
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - Lullabies to Paralyze
That Josh Homme is a stud and his band are a bunch of studs also. This new album is studlike. Simple as that.
A GIRL CALLED EDDY - A Girl Called Eddy
Here is a girl with a voice like Dusty Springfield who writes like Burt Bacharach. This record is a little jewel.
KASABIAN - Kasabian
They remind me of both the Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses back when they were in their prime. The sound of this makes me want to go get high.
DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 - You're a woman, I'm a machine
This is so fresh sounding. Watch them rise fast. They are impossible to resist.

Anyone planning to be Japan-bound?
I posted this story in case you just might happen to be in Tokyo or Osaka in mid-May. Hahahaha! It's a long shot I know...but believe me if a cheap weekend fare to Tokyo comes up that weekend you know I will be there to see Broken Social Scene, The Dears, Death From Above 1979, Metric and Stars. You only live once and Canada rocks!! If only The Stills and Sloan were on the bill then it would be OVER THE TOP!

Cool collaboration
I know these two dudes!
Video directors Chris Mills (Modest Mouse) and Chris Grismer (the Arcade Fire) are teaming up to helm the clip for the new single from the band Motion City Soundtrack, "Everything Is Alright." The band's new album, Commit This to Memory, due June 7, was produced by Mark Hoppus. The Motion City Soundtrack are touring through April before heading out on the Warped Tour this summer.

Border troubles for Motley Crue's emcee
Things have gone relatively smoothly on Motley Crue’s first headlining tour in six years, but there was one “small” snafu as the band attempted to cross the Canada-U.S. border last night to do a show in Grand Forks, ND. Seems traveling circus that makes up the Crue’s current “Better Live Than Dead” tour hit a speedbump when border authorities detained Mighty Mike, the troupe’s resident “little person,” emcee and fire-breather. Seems Mike, a Canadian, didn’t have his papers in order for the crossing back to the U.S.; however, things are expected to be worked out “shortly,” according to a band spokesman. “This could set U.S.-Canadian relations back a couple of weeks,” the Crue’s Vince Neil was heard to say. In the meantime, the Crue shows must go on, and they are.
This is just pure genius - Killers vs. Bravery Celebrity Death Match

Only 1 block from my apartment!!!
Page Six says that "Mike Myers will make his directorial debut with a music video shot on the Lower East Side for indie rocker Mark McAdam. Shooting will take place outside Inoteca and inside Moby's Teany, he told Music Choice News."

Duran Duran Mania in Toronto!!
I wish I could have been there for the all the pandemonium!! Sigh...John Taylor is still so handsome after all these years. I did get to meet him once for a brief moment back in 1996 when he was in the cheesy super-group called Neurotica Outsiders with Matt Sorum, Steve Jones and Duff McKagan. They are quite accurately billed as "a supergroup formed in Los Angeles the mid-'90s consisting of B-list guys from A-list bands." Ha!!

There's been a change in NYC radio...read it and weep
from www.thetripwire.com
K-Rock Leaves NYC Without Commercial Alternative Radio
This year we have watched heritage alternative stations flipping formats, shifting playlists and adjusting their monikers as the format tries to redefine itself. Now the number one market in the nation is without a true commercial alternative radio station. New York City’s WXRK “K-Rock” has expanded their rock library to now include artists such as Guns 'N' Roses, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Their new slogan is “Great Rock. Period.”
Operations Manager Rob Cross explained the change in an official press release. He said: “K-Rock is always looking for opportunities to further connect with our listeners, Enhancing our playlist, while simultaneously launching a web stream whose sole purpose is to feature breaking music, enables us to serve a wider audience with the music most frequently requested without changing the fabric of the radio station.”
Fans of the station heard the debut of the adjusted format this morning immediately following Howard Stern. After his morning show, the new format launched with Gun 'N' Roses “Welcome To The Jungle”, followed by AC/DC’s “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)”. No word on the status of the on-air staff has been made public, as K-Rock will be jockless for the remainder of the week.
If you are looking for K-Rock to provide you with emerging music from artists such as Mars Volta and the Arcade Fire, you will have to head over to their website
for K-Rock 2. It is a sad day when terrestrial radio is no longer supporting new and upcoming artists, especially when so many of these bands come from the NYC area. With outstanding music being released from Beck, Bloc Party, Doves, Gorillaz, Stars and many more, you’d think that alternative radio would be stronger. The music is obviously there. Can somebody spare a small fortune so we can launch our own here in NYC?

Gossip sites are buzzing - Ryan Adams & Parker Posey break up
Gawker says: Tragedy strikes below 14th: The Parker Posey-Ryan Adams love supernova is reportedly no more.
Page Six says: Hipsters, it's open season: Indie actress Parker Posey and her singer boyfriend, Ryan Adams, have split, a source close to him says. The 30-year-old Grammy winner made Posey, 36, his leading lady about two years ago, and they were a regular celeb sighting for residents of the East Village.
Posey even co-wrote a song and contributed backing vocals to Adams' 2003 album, "Rock N Roll."
But now it's over and Adams has moved out of the 'hood - and into a townhouse in the West Village.
Before dating Posey, Adams was engaged to singer Leona Naess and was linked to Winona Ryder.
