My new FAVE band is
FRANZ FERDINAND!!!!!!!
- a wicked 4 piece from Scotland. They play revved-up melodic new wave rock 'n' roll that sounds like The Fall at times and like vintage Elvis Costello at others.

I went to go see them the other night at Northsix with my friend Steve. It was so good! Each song was better than the one before. The place was packed and everyone LOVED them! And there were tons of A&R people there including the legendary Seymour Stein (he of Sire Records fame - Madonna, Talking Heads, Ramones, etc.)!

My friends Beth, Veronica, Carmelita and Steve and I hung with the band, their manager and label folk after the gig. I talked to Alex the lead singer for a while. He was great!!

Don't miss their next show if you live in NY FEB 19th at the
Bowery Ballroom. The NME in the UK put them on the cover recently and claimed them the next big thing! I think this time they might be right!

And I love this! Uber indie label Sub Pop Records makes fun of pitchforkmedia.com - a snobby music website. It's hilarious! Can you spot the real one?

Have fun, go crazy, and you might just end up on Andrew’s MTV2 show.
Who knew??? Howard Stern turns 50 today - wow! I didn't realize he was that old...but one of his favorite bands is the Foo Fighters so he can't be all that bad.

My friend Shirley wants me to get into HBO's
Curb Your Enthusiam and being a HUGE Seinfeld fan... I thought I should give it a shot. Larry David was the co-creator of Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld and the character of Geroge Costanza was largely based on David himself. So I'm trying....saw the 2nd episode of the new season last night at her place. I'm super glad that Ben Stiller is in it right now because I love him!!

Here's a good article:

THE DARKNESS RULE!!!!!!

I went to THE DARKNESS in-store at Virgin Times Square last night
- it was a MOB SCENE. Tons of people were scurrying
around the store to get a glimpse of them. And
hundreds of fans were on the lower 2 levels seeing the
show. They played 4 tracks on the lowest level in the
store. I couldn't get down there due to arriving so
close to 6pm. The Virgin security were quite rude. It
sounded awesome though! I'm not sure what Justin was
wearing since I couldn't see anything. They went
straight from the in-store to The Late Show with David
Letterman to tape a performance. It airs tonight!!!!
Don't miss it! RAWK ON!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I had two weeks holidays - woo hoo!

Back at work today and I don't really feel like being here. Oh well.

Did you hear about Britney Spears getting married?? Too funny. This is a false journal entry from a couple who faked running into Britney just after she got married...still funny even if it's not true. But too bad - they got it annuled! Brit's 22 and a divorcee. Imagine that.
