Last night I went to two rockin' Christmas parties! The first one was for BIG HASSLE/ATO Records. It was at their offices in Tribeca which are killer. And they were decorated very fancy! I was most impressed. Saw some people I know: Jim and Stevie T from Big Hassle, Reno & Ryan from The Fame, Maya, Arye, Courtney and Rod, Babs, Greg Glover, James, Mike from Hi Fi and the list goes on. Every one was in a festive mood and the drinks were plentiful....

Then I went to my friend Brendan's from Tag Team Media for a party. He was serving pomegranate margaritas! It was a very fun night!!

I just spotted a concert date for URGE OVERKILL!! Feb 6th at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. Gadzooks! Are they back??? I must do some investigating...

Always remember to PARTY HARD!! I love the kid with the curly red-haired afro!
Twilight Singers stuff again!

One of my fave tracks on the new Twilight Singers album is called "Teenage Wristband". According to Mr. Twilight Greg Dulli - this is what it's about and how the title of the song came to be:

"The title for "Teenage Wristband" was originally gonna be "Rides Again," as it's the "sequel" to "Twilite Kid" [from the first Twilight Singers album]. However, in rehearsal one day, Mathias [the keyboard player] couldn't remember the name of it and made a comment to the effect of "Are we gonna do that Teenage Wristband song?" And I was confused by that, and Mathias explained that it was "that song with the Who piano intro." The band started to call it that as a joke and it stuck.

Actually that song by The Who is called "Baba O'Reilly" not "Teenage Wasteland"...

So on Monday night, I was walking home in the Lower East Side and I see a video being shot at the bodega next door to Arlene Grocery on Ludlow and Stanton. It was a full on production with lights and trucks and people! There were 3 rappers on the roof and a ton of thugs standing in front of the place. Turns out it was Cam'rom (signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella label). I think they were supposed to film the video in Harlem but used the Lower East Side instead. Too cool. I'll be checking BET for the vid!

Now word is that Gwyneth and Chris have applied for a marriage license...the plot thickens.

This is a wicked new video
Basement Jaxx featuring Dizzee Rascal "Lucky Star"

I got to see THE STILLS with Ryan Adams on Thursday night. It was not their best show but a good one!
There was a killer after party @ THE FLAT that I attended with my good pals Linda and Sarah (who were in town from Toronto). We had fun. I should have some photos to share soon...3 of the 4 members of Interpol were at the party.

LA Story:

I'm happy to report that I caught the Twilight Singers
at the El Rey Theatre last Weds night in LA. It was
much better than the NY show. (Although I'd love a
bootleg of the NY show just for Greg Dulli's 20 minute
intros to the songs alone! I'm still repeating many of
the lines!!)

The show went from 11pm to about 1:15am. Dulli only
rambled when he came out for the first encore. He was
on point for the whole show. It smoked! Hardly any
breaks between songs and short introductions when he
did speak. Although there was no Kate Bush cover for
the LA show. Too bad because it was a cool cover.

Apollonia and Rachel Haden did back-up for the first 2
songs. They were off key and kinda bad though - good
thing they didn't stay for the whole show.

And get this - Keanu Reeves was standing next to me
during part of the LA show (even copying me dancing
during a song). The cool part is that the first time I
ever saw the Afghan Whigs live was in Toronto at Lee's
Palace - April 1st 1994 - Keanu was at that show too!
I'm so glad Mr. Matrix is still a Dulli fan after
almost 10 years!!

now playing - new Phantom Planet album sounds good!
It's snowing in NYC this morning - I can't believe it!!

Just yesterday I was walking by 10th Street and 2nd Ave and there was a pile of snow there. I thought how can there be snow there and no where else especially when it hasn't snowed??? Well I found out that it was there for a movie called "ALFIE" starring Jude Law and Susan Sarandon. No spottings of either actors...just the snow!

WELCOME BACK!!!

I was in LA for a week vacation! It was very fun! I will fill you in on my adventures there in the next couple of days.

I just got back from a TV taping of The Stills TV debut on Last Call With Carson Daly. They did 'Still In Love Song'. It was really good! Lots of Stills fans in the house at the taping to cheer them on. According to the people working at the show - it will air at 1:35am on Dec 10th (well Dec 11th technically). Check your local listings. Or check the Last Call With Carson Daly website. The other guests on the show with The Stills are Jessica Alba and novelist Heru Ptah.

The Stills are shooting a video in NYC this Weds. for "Lola Stars And Stripes". If you want to be in it (THEY NEED EXTRAS!) - call Paladino Casting for more info and to register. 212-228-5500.
