Former Foo member Pat Smear came out to play a few songs with them. They also had a cello player. Dave was in a jovial mood. In the crowd I spotted Lance Armstrong, Julia Stiles and Jesse Malin. You can read more from Stereogum in the link above.

Catwoman Returns!

The Beeb Turns 40 Years Old And I Need This CD!

Check out it out:

BBC Radio 1 turns 40 years old this year, and to celebrate the UK broadcasting giant will release a compilarion comprised of 40 cover songs: one for each year that the station has been on the air, performed by many of the artists currently on the playlist. The cover album tracklist has been published, giving fans and listeners the opportunity "ooh," aah," and "really? Huh," over the tracklist - however the BBC is quick to point out that not all tracks have been recorded and are subject to change. While some of the bands appear to have been matched well, such as Franz Ferdinand doing David Bowie's "Sound and Vision" and The Fray doing R.E.M's "The Great Beyond"; others sound more unusual, like Corinne Bailey Rae covering The Raconteurs' "Steady As She Goes" and The Streets doing "Your Song" by Elton John.
