Things are looking up in the romance dept - let's hope!

From Susan Miller - astrologer extraordinaire!

"Romantically, your whole outlook is about to change, once Jupiter, the good fortune planet, moves into your area of love and fun on November 23, to stay for a full year. You've not had this cosmic favor since 1995, so this is BIG. From now on you would be wise to set aside more time to socialize, and be open to new types. Venus will do her share to amp up the power so you glitter and glow. Your darkest days are behind you, dear Leo. Now, only goodness and light lies ahead."

Macca!

So last night I had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing meal at Nobu 57 thanks to some work colleagues. The meal was hands down unbelievable. And then part way through the diner, my co-worker Liz went outside to have a smoke. When she came back, she said "Guess who is downstairs waiting for a table?! Paul McCartney.". We were floored as we actually had just spoken briefly about his impending divorce with Heather Mills and the fact that he was in New York that day to do an in-store to promote his new DVD and classical CD. Then a few of us were planning how to not be obvious and go down to take a peak at him, when all of sudden, he appeared standing right next to our table! I couldn't believe it! I literally could have reached out my arm to touch him. What was a tad inappropriate at that particular moment was that the waitress had just brought us our lamb appetizer. Whoops. Macca is a strict vegetarian! Oh well. So Paul and his 3 dinner companions ended up at the table next to ours. It was very exciting. His bodyguard did a good job watching over the table. And Paul was sitting in the least obvious chair at his table. His back was facing the on-coming restaurant traffic. I was trying to get a peak to see what he was eating since he doesn't eat meat or fish but I couldn't quite tell. But I do know one thing. Sir Paul likes to drink sake. Woo! Now I can say that I have been in the presence of the only 2 remaining Beatles. Ringo and Paul. Wild. Only if I could talk to him to let him know my idea for the ultimate UK supergroup. The rhythm section of the Beatles (Ringo on drums, Paul on Bass) joining a band with Pete Townshend (guitar) and Roger Daltry (lead vocals). Wouldn't that be rad??!!

Can you tell the difference??

Wow - check this - click on the title above to see/hear a guy do some spot on rap impersonations: LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, DMX and Jay-Z.

CMJ madness started last night in New York.

The only show that I wanted to see was The Cardigans acoustic show at The Knitting Factory. It was amazing. Nina's lyrics to all her songs really do slay me. She's honest, direct and clever. Click on the link above in the title to get the spot-on recap from www.stereogum.com. And here's a live clip from YouTube. Enjoy.
