Do you think his Sugar Ray bandmate will disown him now?
First Mark McGrath joins TV gossip show Extra as a host and now this! A cheesy duet & video with Shania Twain. Maybe Bryan Adams wasn't available. Or Shania's husband Mutt Lang has moved on. You be the judge. Click above to see the video. You won't believe it.
New baby in the garden...

Jay-Z for President??!!
Jay-Z is in final negotiations to become president of Universal Music Group's Island Def Jam label, a person familiar with the negotiations said Tuesday. Discussions with the superstar rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, have been going on for weeks. Barring any last-minute snags, a deal should be finalized within the next 10 days, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Since his first album in 1996, Jay-Z has achieved a string of radio hits, platinum albums and critical respect. After cranking out an album every year, Jay-Z released "The Black Album" last year and announced his retirement from recording. He still remains a major concert draw and is now touring with R&B superstar R. Kelly.

I got this scoop from my pal Judy who lives in London
Gavin Rossdale is a daddy...of a 15 year-old no less! Sounds a bit like the Steven Tyler/Liv Tyler situation.

Sometimes you should go see a band you've never heard of...
You never know who you might bump into...from pagesix.com...
Sightings
JOAQUIN Phoenix and Casey Affleck at Knitting Factory watching Casey's sweetie Rain Phoenix sing in her band, the Paper Cranes, the same night that Meryl Streep watched her son, Henry, play in his band, Bravo Silva.

Heavy stuff for heavy times.
Above is a link to a video for a protest/anti-war song Joseph Arthur wrote called “All Of Our Hands.” The video was put together by Joseph and a group of filmmakers he met this fall. It contains some intense war footage. The song is not on any album, but is available free for download off of his website: www.josepharthur.com

Celebrating some Libra birthdays...
On Wednesday night two of my co-workers took me Wyclef's birthday party at trendy New York hotspot BLVD. I mostly hung out with his manager Jerry Wonder but I did get to meet Wyclef briefly. He seemed cool. Photos of the party from Wireimage above. Just click on the link.

Rock shows galore!
I saw Franz Ferdinand on Sunday night at Roseland. They killed it! It was an awesome last show of the US tour. It was a trip to see rock legends David Bowie and Lou Reed sitting together at a table in the VIP section of the balcony.
Then on Monday, I went to see the Killers at Irving Plaza. They were good but not mind-blowing. They do write some catchy singles that's for sure. I dig "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine", "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside". Nick from Franz Ferdinand was there to check them out. And I heard that David Bowie was there too but I didn't see him.
