SIGN THIS PETITION!!

Fans of the late Elliott Smith have organized a petition to have a section of Los Angeles’ Echo Park renamed in his honor. Smith, a resident of the Echo Park district, was noted for his charitable works in the community, including a non-profit charity for abused children. “Elliott Smith endeared himself to fans and supporters through his modesty, passion, honesty, writing songs that touched the hearts and souls of those who heard them,” reads the petition. Those signing are asking for a section of Echo Park to be renamed, that an area be developed for a memorial, and that signage be change to reflect the tribute.

Those interested in signing the petition should visit this website

Maybe they should re-name it to QUEENS OF THE SCREAM AGE??

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Part Ways With Bassist NICK OLIVERI - Feb. 11, 2004

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have officially parted ways with bassist Nick Oliveri.
According to MTV.com, Oliveri has unexpectedly left the band, breaking off a musical relationship with frontman Josh Homme that goes back to their days playing together in KYUSS in the early '90s.

"A number of incidents occurring over the last 18 months have led to the decision that the two can no longer maintain a working partnership in the band," reads a terse statement from the band's management.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's web site is now listing SCREAMING TREES member Van Conner as the group's bassist. Also gone is drummer Joey Castillo (ex-DANZIG), who has apparently been replaced by another SCREAMING TREES member, Barrett Martin.

Homme is currently on tour in England drumming with side project EAGLES OF DEATH METAL. The band's debut album, "Peace Love Death Metal", comes out March 23.

I am back from FRANCE! I went to the MIDEM music conference in Cannes and then to Paris for 3 days vacation. It was awesome!!!!!!

I ended up going to the big NRJ Music Awards in Cannes. It featured Britney Spears, Madonna, Christina Aguliera, Dido, Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Seal, Placebo and more.

You can see some photos here -
this is Dido arriving.

I also was at her after-awards gathering at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes...with my pals Eddie, Steve, Eric and Tino.
