The LES was transformed last night.

My street is being used in the filming of a movie musical directed by Julie Taymor (who directed the Frida movie). It's very cool. They have transformed a few blocks around Rivington and Clinton into a 70's hippie neighborhood. It was totally groovy. Store fronts with psychedelic graffiti & lights, old painted VW vans, and vintage mustangs. My friend Lauren and I checked it out. See the photos. The weirdest part was seeing the Suffolk Street sign changed to read St. Marks on the corner of Rivington and Suffolk. Huh?
